Owen Blazick shot a 1-over-par, 37 at Wilkes-Barre Golf Club Friday afternoon as Crestwood clinched the Wyoming Valley Conference Class 3A Division golf title with a 157-177, road victory over Wilkes-Barre Area.
The Comets, the No. 1 Big School in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Golf Power Rankings of District 2 teams, improved to 11-0 with one match remaining. They are the first team in either District 2 league in any sport this fall to clinch a championship.
Blazick had plenty of help.
Tommy Biscotti added a 38, giving the Comets the lowest two scores in the match.
Derek Johnson shot 40 to match Wilkes-Barre Area’s low score, which was turned in by Brady Gerrity.
Sienna Smith shot a 42 to complete Crestwood’s four-player team score.
Jordan Wychock added a 41 and Mike Hamel a 44 for the Wolfpack.
