Trey Zabroski scored six goals, Dean Fey made eight saves and Crestwood overwhelmed visiting Wyoming Seminary on the way to Thursday’s 16-2 victory in the District 2 Class 2A boys lacrosse championship game.
The district title is the fourth straight for the Comets, who were also unbeaten champions of the Wyoming Valley Conference this season.
Fey and a strong defensive effort shut down Wyoming Seminary.
Zabroski, who also had an assist, got offensive support from a five-goal game by Chandler O’Farrell. Nick Curry and Noah Schultz each had two goals and an assist while Brendan Dennis added a goal and three assists.
Jacob Zaleski and Aidan Jardine also had assists.
Myles Standish and Jack Herron scored goals for Wyoming Seminary.
Quinn Kelly made 10 saves in the loss.
Both teams advance to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 2A state tournament.
Crestwood had the most successful state run ever by a District 2 lacrosse team when it reached the 2019 semifinals. The Comets (16-2) will play District 4 champion Lewisburg at a District 2 site in Tuesday’s first round. Crestwood defeated Lewisburg, 16-3, April 17.
Wyoming Seminary will travel to the Philadelphia suburbs to play the District 1 champion, either Penncrest or Strath Haven.
