Crestwood, West Scranton move up

Crestwood extended its winning streak to eight matches with a pair of victories and jumped up two spots to second among Big Schools in the latest Riverfront Sports Super Six Girls Tennis Power Rankings of District 2 teams.

West Scranton also moved up in and Scranton moved into the latest rankings, which were released Monday morning.

Unbeatens Abington Heights and Wyoming Seminary continue to lead the rankings.

Wyoming Seminary clinched at least a tie for the Wyoming Valley Conference title with a 4-1 victory over Dallas in a meeting of two of the top three teams in the Small School rankings. The Blue Knights also won two other matches.

The entire Small School Super Six remained the same.

Wyoming Seminary is followed, in order, by Scranton Prep, Dallas, Wyoming Area, Tunkhannock and North Pocono.

Wyoming Area defeated Tunkhannock, 3-2, during the week.

Wallenpaupack dropped from second to third in Big Schools after suffering its first two Lackawanna League losses to unbeatens Abington Heights and Scranton Prep.

West Scranton won three times to move up from fifth to fourth.

Valley View slipped to fifth.

Scranton took over sixth and Hazleton Area fell from the rankings.
