Honesdale’s Aidan LaTourette and Luke Murray finished first and second in a six-team cluster meet at Mountain View Thursday, helping the Hornets to three victories in Lackawanna League boys cross country.
Delaware Valley and Wallenpaupack joined Honesdale in going 3-0 by sweeping the combination of Forest City, Mountain View and Susquehanna. All nine duals were decided by at least 20 points.
LaTourette finished in 17:46 and Murray in 17:56, 36 and 27 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack.
Honesdale had 6 of the top 12 runners while beating Mountain View (18-45), Susquehanna (15-49) and Forest City (15-50). James Ahern was seventh, Joseph Taraschuk ninth, Jonah Legg 11th and Logan Novobilski 12th.
Wallenpaupack’s Alex Crouthamel was third, followed by Delaware Valley’s Griffen Kowal and Wallenpaupack’s Nick Warrington.
Holy Redeemer defeated Pittston Area, 21-36, and Wilkes-Barre Area, 15-45, during a Wyoming Valley Conference cluster meet.
Wilkes-Barre Area and Pittston Area each went 2-1 by beating Hanover Area and Nanticoke.
GIRLS
Forest City freshman Katy Korty won with a time of 19:23 at Mountain View where Honesdale was the only team to go 3-0.
The Korty sisters, Katy and Rachel, finished first and third while Mountain View’s Carissa Flynn was second.
Honesdale placed Brenna Dahlgren, Megan Kretschmer and Kira Fox fourth, fifth and seventh.
Kathryn Long was sixth for Mountain View, which went 2-1 on the day. The Lady Eagles defeated Delaware Valley and Wallenpaupack, which each posted wins over Forest City and Susquehanna to join Mountain View at 2-1.
Holy Redeemer beat both its opponents in a WVC meet, 23-32 over Pittston Area and 15-50 over Wilkes-Barre Area.
Pittston Area went 2-1 with wins over Hanover Area and Nanticoke, which both wound up 1-1 by beating Wilkes-Barre Area.
