Wednesday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw seven District 2 graduates playing.

Here is a recap of how each did:

RACHAEL ROSE, WOFFORD COLLEGE WOMEN

Wofford (5-2) defeated visiting Davidson College (2-6), 72-51

Started, played 34 minutes; 10/13 FG, 3/4 on 3-pointers, 4/4 FT, 27 points; 1 offensive, 4 defensive, 5 total rebounds; 1 assist; 2 turnovers; 1 steal.

Behind 50 percent shooting and 14 forced turnovers, Wofford extended its win streak to five games. … Four Terriers scored in double figures, led by Rose’s game-high 27 points. … Wofford outscored Davidson, 20-7, in the second quarter to open a 15-point halftime lead. Rose scored 11 of the Terriers’ second-quarter points. … “We just kept telling ourselves to shoot with confidence,” Rose said in a recap posted on Wofford’s athletic website. “There’s going to be days when you don’t shoot well, but luckily today we were able to shoot. We’ve been able to get in the gym, get extra shots up, and it was just a really good day for everybody all around.” … Wofford hosted Education Day which brought out students from multiple local schools for the 11 a.m. start.

CECELIA COLLINS, BUCKNELL UNIVERSITY WOMEN

Bucknell (3-5) defeated visiting St. Bonaventure (1-6), 59-44

Bucknell used a strong second half, outscoring St. Bonaventure, 34-19, to pull away from a tie game at halftime. … Collins was one of four Bison to score in double-figures. … Bucknell’s defense was a key to the victory. “We played much better in the fourth quarter if you look at it,” said head coach Trevor Woodruff in the game recap posted on the school’s athletic website. “It is typical for us to have a quarter in the games that we win to hold the opponent to sub-15 for sure and sub-10 often.” … Bucknell held St. Bonaventure to four third-quarter points.

Rider (2-4) lost to visiting Lehigh (3-5), 81-67

Rider trailed by one point after three quarters, but Lehigh outscored the Broncos, 26-13, in the decisive fourth quarter. … Rider made a dozen 3-pointers during the contest, but Lehigh’s hot shooting night proved to be the difference. Lehigh shot 50.8 percent (31-for-61) and 40.7 percent (11-for-27) from behind the arc. … Lehigh’s Frannie Hottinger and Mackenzie Kramer combined for 60 points. … This was Rider’s first game since participating in the MAAC/ASUN Challenge in Dublin, Ireland Nov. 19.

Lafayette moved ahead, 31-30, in the opening 30 seconds of the second half, but Drexel answered with a 21-4 run to the game’s biggest lead at 51-35. … O’Boyle led a 17-6 run that pulled the Leopards within, 57-52, with 2:59 remaining. He hit 3-pointers to make it 55-49 with 4:12 left and again 1:13 later. … O’Boyle’s 36 minutes tied for the team-high.

This was Stonehill’s first home game in three weeks. … Stonehill led, 50-19, at halftime. … Meuser had 4 points and 4 rebounds in 10 second-half minutes.

Notes

Cincinnati jumped out early using an 11-2 run to take a 13-5 lead just over six minutes into the game. The Highlanders answered with a run of their own to take the lead, 19-17. From that point, Cincinnati took control, scoring 26 of the next 33 points to lead by 17 late in the first half.
