Thursday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw three District 2 graduates in action.
Here is a recap of how each did:
RACHAEL ROSE, WOFFORD COLLEGE WOMEN

Wofford (14-6 overall, 4-2 SoCon) won at Mercer (7-12 overall, 3-3 SoCon), 76-71.

Started, played 35 minutes; 5/14 FG, 1/5 on 3-pointers, 4/6 FT, 15 points; 5 offensive, 5 defensive, 10 total rebounds; 4 assists; 1 turnover; 1 block; 1 steal.
Notes
Rose posted her fourth double-double of the season and Wofford placed five players in double figures in the win over Mercer. … Mercer led, 38-31, at halftime, but the Terriers outscored Mercer, 45-33, in the second half. … Entering the contest against Mercer, Rose ranked second in the Southern Conference in assist/turnover ratio (2.33), assists per game (4.1), shooting percentage (48.6 percent), steals (36), and steals per game (1.89). Her assist/turnover ratio ranks 34th in Division I.

Notes
Rider opened the game on a 6-0 run with Toomey scoring the opening basket. Siena immediately responded with a 12-0 run and led, 27-17, at the end of the first quarter. Siena’s offense didn’t slow up as the Saints outscored Rider, 53-31 over the second and third quarters. … This was Rider’s second game in the last three allowing 90 or more points.

Notes
The matchup featured the top two defenses in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. … Fairfield has won four consecutive MAAC regular-season games for the first time since the last four outings of the 2017-18 season. … The second half was a game of scoring runs that saw the biggest lead for either team being four points over the final 10 minutes. … Turnovers proved to be the difference as Mount St. Mary’s committed 17 to Fairfield’s 7.
