Monday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw three District 2 graduates playing.

GEORGE TINSLEY, MOUNT ST. MARY’S MEN

Monday’s result
Mount St. Mary’s (6-9 overall, 2-2 MAAC) defeated Canisius (2-11 overall, 0-4 MAAC), 64-60

Started, played 36 minutes; 7/13 FG, 2/4 on 3-pointers, 16 points; 3 offensive, 2 defensive, 5 total rebounds; 3 assists; 2 turnovers; 3 steals.
Notes
Tinsley’s 16 points are a season-high. … Mount St. Mary’s used a 16-0 run that spanned the end of the first half and beginning of the second half to fuel the win. Tinsley scored seven points during the run. … The Mount withstood a late rally by Canisius to secure the victory. Mount St. Mary’s led, 54-36, with 10:04 remaining but Canisius used a 13-2 run to cut the deficit to 56-49 with just under five minutes left. … Canisius was able to cut the deficit to 62-60, but Jalen Benjamin sealed the win with a pair of free-throws with 3.2 seconds remaining.

Army shot 60.6 percent (20-for-33), including 75 percent (9-for-12) from 3-point range in the first half as the Black Knights opened a 54-36 halftime lead. … O’Boyle was held scoreless for the first time since November 16, 2021, against Penn.

Notes
Bucknell was let by Collins and Emma Theodorsson with 10 points apiece. … Bucknell fell behind early and could never catch up as the Terriers pulled away every time the Bison drew within striking distance. … Trailing by eight entering the final quarter, Bucknell’s Emma Shaffer converted a layup to cut Boston’s lead to 49-43. The Bison did not get any closer as Boston went on a 16-0 run over a span of nearly six minutes.
