LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Sunday’s National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball schedule saw four District 2 graduates in action.
Here is a recap of how each did:
VICTORIA TOOMEY, RIDER UNIVERSITY WOMEN
6-foot-2 senior center from Dunmore
Sunday’s result
Rider (6-18 overall, 3-12 MAAC) lost to visiting Manhattan (10-14 overall, 7-8 MAAC), 71-56.

Started, played 37 minutes; 8/11 FG, 2/2 FT, 18 points; 2 offensive, 2 defensive, 4 total rebounds; 1 assist; 2 turnovers; 2 blocks; 1 steal.
Notes
Toomey started 1-for-3, then made her next seven shots before missing her last attempt. … Raphaela Toussaint scored a career-high 24 points while Toomey was matching her career-high in scoring and Amanda Mobley reached one in assists. Mobley’s 13 assists were Rider’s Division I (1983-present) record. … “Raphie and Vic established themselves really well in the paint,” Broncs coach Lynn Milligan said during Rider’s post-game press conference. “To have our two post players score the way they did against one of the biggest teams in the league is something I’m excited about.” … Toomey hit two free throws with 7:46 left to complete her scoring in the game and reach 500 points for her career. Toomey scored 33 points in 23 games as a freshman; 157 points in 23 starts as a sophomore; 113 points in 30 games, including 10 starts, last season as a junior; and 197 in 24 starts (8.2 per game) this season. … Rider was within 56-52 in the fourth quarter before Manhattan went on an 11-1 run. … The Jaspers had a 40-26 rebounding advantage, but just an 11-9 edge in second-chance points. “We knew coming in that we needed to keep them off the boards, and we were able to do that for a majority of the game,” Toomey said during the press conference, “but at points there, they just got through.”
KYLIE LAVELLE, DREXEL UNIVERSITY WOMEN
6-foot-2 freshman forward from Riverside
Sunday’s result
Drexel (18-6 overall, 10-3 CAA) lost at Monmouth (12-12 overall, 7-6 CAA), 70-66.

Started, played 18 minutes; 3/9 FG, 0/1 on 3-pointers, 1/2 FT, 7 points; 1 turnover; 2 steals.
Notes
Drexel started out slow, shooting 6-for-18 in the first quarter and trailed, 21-12, after the opening 10 minutes. … Drexel’s Keishana Washington scored 32 points, marking the ninth time this season and 14th in her career scoring 30 or more points.

BOBBY PLANUTIS, PURDUE FORT WAYNE MEN
6-foot-8 graduate student forward from Hazleton Area

Purdue Fort Wayne (15-12 overall, 7-9 Horizon League) lost to visiting Robert Morris (12-15 overall, 7-9 Horizon League), 71-64.

Started, played 33 minutes; 5/12 FG, 4/10 on 3-pointers, 1/1 FT, 15 points; 7 defensive rebounds; 1 assist; 1 turnover; 1 steal.
Notes
Planutis had a sizzling first half, scoring all 15 of his points while shooting 5-for-8 from the floor and 4-for-7 from 3-point range. … Planutis and teammate, Jarred Godfrey combined to score 32 of the Mastodons’ 37 first-half points to give Purdue Fort Wayne at 37-24 halftime lead. … Godfrey scored 23 points to become Purdue Fort Wayne’s all-time leader in points scored.

GEORGE TINSLEY, MOUNT ST. MARY’S MEN
6-foot-6 senior forward from Abington Heights

Mount St. Mary’s (8-18 overall, 4-11 MAAC) lost at Fairfield (11-14 overall, 7-8 MAAC), 76-72 in overtime.
Individual statistics
Started, played 35 minutes; 1/3 FG, 0/2 on 3-pointers, 2 points; 2 offensive, 3 defensive, 5 total rebounds; 1 assist; 1 turnover; 1 block.
Notes
Fairfield rallied from a 12-point second-half deficit to force overtime and eventually gain the win. … Leading, 32-31 at halftime, the Mount opened the second half on a 12-3 run to build a 10-point advantage. A Tinsley layup with 14 minutes remaining gave the Mount its biggest lead of the game at 48-36. Fairfield began to chip away at the lead and missed a pair of 3-point attempts at the buzzer, sending the game to overtime.
