Dallas moves up, teams shuffled

Teams in the Electric City Volleyball Academy Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 girls teams spent the past week knocking each other off.

Only the 1-2 combination of Berwick and Delaware Valley made it through the week unscathed.

Last week’s No. 3 through No. 8 teams all suffered at least one loss, including three cases where teams lost to lower-ranked opponents.

The result is a shuffled set of rankings in which Dallas was able to climb three spots despite suffering a loss during the week.

The top three remained the same.

Berwick remained unbeaten with its 10th and 11th sweeps of a 13-0 season.

Delaware Valley, which has only lost to Berwick, also won twice.

Holy Redeemer split matches, with a loss to Delaware Valley, and remained third.

Dallas jumped from seventh to fourth when it bounced back from a loss to Holy Redeemer with a pair of wins.

North Pocono handed Lackawanna League rival Blue Ridge its first loss, but later dropped a non-league match to Pittston Area and remained fifth.

Blue Ridge slipped from fourth to sixth.

Pittston Area went 3-1 on the week, including the victory over North Pocono, and moved up one spot to seventh.

Lake-Lehman lost twice, extending its losing streak to five before picking up a win, and fell two spots to eighth.
