Dallas won the top two singles matches and the No. 2 doubles match Tuesday to advance to Hershey for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 2A boys tennis team quarterfinals with a 3-1 first-round victory over Allentown Central Catholic at Northwood Racquet Club in Easton.
Abington Heights was eliminated from the Class 3A tournament with a 5-0 loss to Upper Dublin at Birchwood Racquet Club in Clarks Summit.
Tucker Chesman, Dan Flynn and the doubles team of Lucas Carver-Mihir Mukul all won in straight sets for Dallas.
Chesman defeated Jesse Coulter, 6-2, 6-1, at number-one singles.
Flynn topped Tim Spinosa, 7-5, 6-3.
Carver-Mukul defeated Danny Patruno-Alessio Flores, 6-2, 6-4, at second doubles.
Allentown Central Catholic got its only point at third singles where Dylan Alvarez defeated Danny Dudick, 6-1, 6-1.
The first doubles match was not completed because the team outcome had been determined.
Dallas will play District 10 champion Fairview in the PIAA quarterfinals Friday at 9:30 at the Hershey Racquet Club, where the last three rounds of the tournament will be conducted.
Upper Dublin, the third-place team from District 1, swept Abington Heights out of the Class 3A tournament.
The closest match was at second doubles where Christopher Hong-Zachary Hunter beat Quinn Hamilton-Luke Morgan, 7-5, 6-0.
Timothy Shaeffer-Tommaso Serafini defeated Ryan Salony-Mike Rodyschkun, 6-1, 6-1, in the other doubles match.
Singles results were: first, Daniel Duan over Sam Weis, 6-0, 6-0; second, Harrison Liu over Sam Christman, 6-3, 6-0; and third, Scott Schlackman over Adam Vale, 6-0, 6-2.
