District 2 football playoff scenarios

Here are the projections for the District 2 and Subregional playoffs for each team entering Week 10:

CLASS 6A

Hazleton Area – Clinched a playoff spot in the District 2-4-11 Subregional. Currently No. 6. Can be as high as No. 5 and as low as No. 7. Will have a road game in the quarterfinals

Wilkes-Barre Area – Clinch a playoff spot with a win. Still can make the playoffs with a loss depending on what happens to teams behind it in standings. Will be No. 8 seed if it qualifies and will travel in the quarterfinals.

Williamsport – The District 4 team, which plays with District 2 members as part of the Wyoming Valley Conference needs a win on Friday and a combination of things, including a Wilkes-Barre Area loss, to happen to sneak into the No. 8 seed.

CLASS 5A

Delaware Valley – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 1 seed. Can clinch the No. 1 seed with a win or Scranton and Pittston Area losses. Will end up No. 2 seed with a loss and a Scranton or Pittston Area win. Will end up No. 3 seed with a loss and a Scranton win and Pittston Area win.

Scranton – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 2 seed. Can clinch the No. 1 seed with a win and a DV loss. Can clinch the No. 2 seed with a win and/or Pittston Area loss. Can end up the No. 2 seed with a loss and a Pittston Area loss. Can end up the No. 3 seed with a loss and a win by Pittston.

Pittston Area  – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 3 seed. Can clinch the No. 1 seed with a win and a DV loss, a Scranton loss and help from outcomes from other games. Can clinch the No. 2 seed with a DV or Scranton loss. Will be the No. 3 seed with a loss or DV and Scranton wins.

Abington Heights – Currently the No. 4 seed. Clinches the No. 4 seed with a win or a West Scranton loss.

West Scranton – Currently the No. 5 seed. Clinches the No. 4 seed with a win and an Abington Heights loss.

Wyoming Valley West – Eliminated.

CLASS 4A

Crestwood – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 1 seed. Clinches the No. 1 seed with a win. Clinches the No. 2 seed with a loss and a Valley View win.

Valley View – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 2 seed. Clinches the No. 1 seed with a win and a Crestwood loss. Clinch the No. 2 seed with a win. Clinch the No. 3 seed with a loss and Dallas win.

Dallas – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 3 seed. Clinches the No. 2 seed with a win and a Valley View loss. Clinch the No. 3 seed with a Valley View win.

Berwick – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 4 seed. Clinches the No. 4 seed with a win. With a loss, can be anywhere from 4 to 7 depending on North Pocono, Wyoming Area and Honesdale results. Any team that wins of those four moves ahead of the teams that lose.

North Pocono – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 5 seed. Can clinch the No. 4 seed with a win and Berwick loss. Clinch the No. 5 seed with a win and Berwick win. With a loss, can be anywhere from 5 to 7 depending on Wyoming Area and Honesdale results. Any team that wins of North Pocono, Wyoming Area and Honesdale moves ahead of the teams that lose.

Wyoming Area – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 6 seed. Can clinch the No. 4 seed with a win and Berwick and North Pocono losses. Can clinch the No. 5 seed with a win and Berwick or North Pocono losses. With a loss, will be the No. 6 seed with a Honesdale loss or the No. 7 seed with a Honesdale win.

Honesdale – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently the No. 7 seed. Can clinch the No. 4 seed with a win and Berwick, North Pocono and Wyoming Area losses. Can clinch the No. 5 seed with a win and losses by two of the following -Berwick, North Pocono and Wyoming Area. Can clinch the No. 6 seed with a win and a loss by one of the following – Berwick, North Pocono and Wyoming Area. With a loss, it is the No. 7 seed.

Nanticoke – Currently the No. 8 seed. Clinches the No. 8 seed with a win or Wallenpaupack loss. Out with loss and Wallenpaupack win.

Wallenpaupack – Currently the No. 9 seed. Clinches the No. 8 seed with a win and Nanticoke loss. Out with a loss.

Tunkhannock – Eliminated.

Class 3A

Scranton Prep – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently No. 1 seed. Clinches the No. 1 seed with a win or a Western Wayne loss. Clinches the No. 2 seed with a loss and Western Wayne win.

Western Wayne – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently No. 2 seed. Clinches the No. 1 seed with a win and a Scranton Prep loss. Clinches the No. 2 seed with a loss or Scranton Prep win.

Lake-Lehman – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently No. 3 seed. Clinches the No. 3 seed with a win or Carbondale loss. Clinches No. 4 seed with a loss and Carbondale win.

Carbondale – Clinched a playoff spot. Currently No. 4 seed. Clinches the No. 3 seed with a win and Lake-Lehman loss. Clinches the No. 4 seed with a loss or Lake-Lehman win.

Hanover Area  – Eliminated.

Montrose – Opted out.

CLASS 2A

Lakeland – Clinched a playoff spot. Clinched No. 1 seed

Dunmore – Clinched a playoff spot. Clinched No. 2 seed

Riverside – Clinched a playoff spot. Clinches No. 3 seed with a win or Susquehanna loss. Clinches No. 4 seed with a loss and Susquehanna win plus other outcomes from certain games.

Susquehanna – Currently the No. 4 seed. Clinches No. 3 seed with a win and a Riverside loss plus other outcomes from certain games. Clinches No. 4 seed with a win or Holy Redeemer loss. Out of playoffs with a loss and Holy Redeemer win.

Holy Redeemer – Currently the No. 5 seed. Clinches the No. 4 seed with a win and Susquehanna loss. Out of playoffs with a loss or Susquehanna win.

Mid Valley – Eliminated.

Holy Cross – Eliminated.

CLASS 1A

Old Forge – Clinched a playoff spot. Clinched No. 1 seed.

Lackawanna Trail – Clinched playoff spot. Clinched No. 2 seed.
