Wyoming Area, Crestwood and Honesdale landed the top seeds for the upcoming District 2 field hockey playoffs.
Pairings and schedules for the playoffs, which are scheduled to begin Tuesday, were announced by the district through its website Saturday.
Crestwood and Honesdale are defending champions along with Wyoming Seminary, which is the second seed in Class A.
The top two seeds in each bracket are guaranteed the home field until the championship games, which are set for neutral fields.
Wyoming Seminary, the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 champion, is the three-time defending state champion in Class A.
Following Hanover Area’s decision not to participate in the playoffs, Wyoming Area has a bye as the top seed in what is a seven-team tournament in Class A.
The Class 3A and A tournaments are self-contained in District 2. The Class 2A tournament is a subregional with District 4 teams also included.
The championships are scheduled for a Class 3A-2A doubleheader at Wyoming Seminary’s Nesbitt Stadium Nov. 2 and a Class A single game at Wyoming Valley West’s Spartan Stadium Nov. 3.
The top teams advance to the state tournament from Class A and 2A, with only the champion moving on in Class 3A.
