Delaware Valley and Wyoming Area moved up in and Honesdale moved into the Riverfront Sports Elite Eight Wrestling Rankings of District 2 teams, which were released prior to Thursday night’s matches.
Lackawanna Trail and Abington Heights held on to the first two spots.
Delaware Valley and Wyoming Area each moved up one position into third and fourth.
Hazleton Area slipped two spots to fifth, followed by Wallenpaupack.
Honesdale joins the rankings in seventh and Western Wayne slips one spot to eighth.
Lackawanna Trail defeated Western Wayne, 54-12, Wednesday with the Lackawanna League Division 2 lead on the line.
Abington Heights did not wrestle.
Delaware Valley had a 2-2 week, but the two losses were to District 11 powers Easton and Northampton.
Wyoming Area won the Wyoming Valley Conference title, beating out second-place Hazleton Area.
Hazleton Area also suffered its first dual loss, 52-15, to Bethlehem Freedom.
Wallenpaupack had the week off.
Honesdale won seven times, extending its winning streak to 10 matches. Of the wins, five came at the Lehighton Indian Duals where it defeated Cedar Cliff, 34-26, for the championship.
Western Wayne entered the week unbeaten, but went 2-4, including the loss to Lackawanna Trail.
Pittston Area, which had been No. 8, fell out of the rankings after finishing seventh in the WVC Tournament.
