Lena Ryon scored three goals Monday as Lackawanna Trail advanced in the District 2 Class A field hockey playoffs with a 5-2 victory over visiting Nanticoke.
The fourth-seeded Lady Lions used the victory to advance to the semifinals at top-seeded Wyoming Area, which received a bye. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but then moved back to Thursday at 4:15 p.m. because of wet conditions at Atlas Field.
The other two quarterfinals resulted in 13-0 routs by Wyoming Seminary over Holy Redeemer and Lake-Lehman over Hanover Area.
Emma Watchilla and Maddie Olshemski scored four goals each for Wyoming Seminary. Chase Taylor had five assists while Ella Barbacci and Izzy Pisano each scored twice.
Bella DeCesaris scored the first two goals for Lake-Lehman, then turned to setting up teammates, dishing out three assists in the second quarter.
