Executive Education Charter Academy from Allentown closed its first football season by winning the Eastern Conference Class 2A/A championship, defeating Holy Cross, 34-8, Saturday at Muhlenberg College.
Holy Cross opened the game by slowly moving the ball down the field on an extended drive that resulted in Logan Tierney’s 23-yard touchdown for an 8-0 lead.
Seconds later, the game was tied, 8-8, after Dontae Oquendo returned the ensuing kickoff 80 yards for the first of his two touchdowns.
The Raptors were in control most of the rest of the way despite another 100-yard-plus rushing effort by Tierney.
The Crusaders finished 4-7 in Joe Giorgio’s first season after going winless last year and sitting out the 2019 season because of a lack of players.
