All six games involving District 2 teams in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association basketball playoffs Tuesday night have been postponed to Wednesday.
The PIAA made a series of announcements on its Twitter account between 9:30 and 10:30 Tuesday morning, then, after waiting nearly another hour, also called off the Abington Heights boys game against Pocono Mountain West.
The earlier announcements delayed games involving the Valley View and Scranton Prep boys as well as the Dunmore, Lake-Lehman and Montrose girls.
Abington Heights and Pocono Mountain West will remain at Hazleton Area in Class 5A boys, but move up to a 6 p.m. start Wednesday. As a result, the Holy Cross-Muncy Class 2A boys game will switch from 7 to a 7:30 tipoff.
Valley View and Montrose will simply move back 24 hours and play at the site that was originally planned.
Because of other games already in place for Wednesday, the Scranton Prep boys, Dunmore girls and Lake-Lehman girls plans will need adjustments. As of 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, the PIAA had not rescheduled those games.
Valley View and Pittsburgh North Catholic meet in Class 4A boys at Central Mountain High School in Mill Hall Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Montrose and Marian Catholic play in Class 2A girls at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Scranton Prep and Bishop Shanahan, in Class 4A boys, and Dunmore and Imhotep Charter, in Class 3A girls, had been scheduled to play Tuesday night at separate Bethlehem site. Lake-Lehman and Columbia, in Class 3A girls, were scheduled to play in Pottsville.
