FRIDAY RECAP: Lady Knights remain unbeaten

Lizzy Blaski won both hurdles races and ran a leg on the winning 1600-meter relay Friday afternoon as Lake-Lehman remained undefeated in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 girls track and field with a 94-55 victory over Tunkhannock.

The Lady Knights improved to 4-0 with two meets remaining, one of them against second-place Wyoming Area (4-1). Tunkhannock fell to 1-2.

Blaski won the 100 hurdles in 15.9 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 50.3.

Grace O’Donnell won the 800 run and was on the winning 1600 and 3200 relays.

Tasha Mihalko (triple jump), Madison Brdaric (1600) and Lia Keefe (400) each won an individual event and were on a winning relay.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Ty Konen’s sprinting led Tunkhannock to a 79-66 victory over Lake-Lehman in a WVC Division 2 meet.

Konen won the 100- and 200-meter dashes and was on wins in the 400 and 1600 relays. The Tigers outscored the Black Knights, 27-1, in those four events.

BASEBALL

Hunter Lawall tossed a three-hit shutout as Wyoming Area defeated Wyoming Seminary, 6-0, in WVC Division 2.

Lawall walked three and struck out six.

Leadoff hitter Evan Melberger tripled, doubled and scored twice.

SOFTBALL

Winning pitcher Moriah Murray hit a two-run homer to help Dunmore defeat Lakeland, 7-5, in a Lackawanna League Division 3 game.

Emma Conte had three hits for the Lady Bucks.
