Wyoming Seminary overcame a two-goal deficit in the fourth quarter then defeated Delaware Valley, 7-6, in sudden-death overtime Friday to remain unbeaten in Wyoming Valley Conference boys lacrosse.
The Blue Knights improved to 6-0 by beating the visiting Warriors, who became the last District 2 team to begin its season.
Ford Brock scored three goals while Cooper Wood had two goals and two assists to lead Wyoming Seminary. Bryan Morley scored three goals for Delaware Valley, which took a 5-3 halftime lead and carried it into the fourth quarter.
Wyoming Seminary is 4-0 in the WVC, leaving it one game behind Crestwood (6-0).
BASEBALL
North Pocono and Wallenpaupack improved to 3-0 in Lackawanna League Division 2 baseball with victories.
Jake Millan had a home run, single, five RBI and three runs scored to lead North Pocono to a 15-9 victory at Delaware Valley. The Trojans (7-1 overall) trailed until scoring seven runs in the seventh inning. Chris Walsh and Alex Brinkman each had a double, two hits and three RBI. Brinkman’s other hit was a home run.
Anthony Paolicelli went 3-for-3 and Wyatt Peifer pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the save when Wallenpaupack defeated Honesdale, 8-6. Mabret Levant had a double, a homer, two RBI and two runs scored in the win. T.J. Schmalzle also had two hits and two runs scored. Paul Meagher had two hits and scored three times for Honesdale.
