GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Mountain View, Trail reach 2-0

Freshman Addison Kilmer posted her third double-double of the season Thursday night to lead Mountain View past host Blue Ridge, 41-32, in a Lackawanna League Division 4 girls basketball game.

Mountain View is off to a 2-0 start, matching Lackawanna Trail, a half-game in front of two-time defending champion Montrose.

Kilmer finished with 16 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocked shots.

Vanessa Harvey added 13 points.

Ryleigh Kilmer, Addison’s sister, had eight rebounds and seven assists.

Emma Button led Blue Ridge with 10 points while Libby Zick had 9 and Leigha McCain 8.

Lackawanna Trail 37, Forest City 11

Lackawanna Trail held visiting Forest City scoreless for the first quarter and to just three points through three quarters.

The Lady Lions led 12-0 at the quarter, 27-2 at halftime and 35-3 going to the fourth quarter.

Gretchen Rejrat led Lackawanna Trail with 14 points and Mackenzie Schirg added 10.

Montrose 58, Susquehanna 15

Mia Snyder and Aspen Smith got Montrose off to a fast start on the way to the home-court win.

Snyder had 10 of her 14 points in the first quarter when the Lady Meteors took a 25-2 lead.

Smith, who finished with a game-high 17 points, had 9 points in the first quarter.

Hayley Pompey added 14 points in the win.
