Hailey Kline scored 12 points and Lake-Lehman’s defense shut out visiting Montrose in the third quarter Saturday afternoon on the way to a 40-22, non-league girls basketball victory.
The game matched defending champions and current contenders in their divisions who are ranked among the best Small School girls teams in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Basketball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
Lake-Lehman outscored Montrose, 9-0, in the third quarter to open up a 28-12 lead.
The Lady Knights won their sixth straight to improve to 11-4. The Lady Meteors had an 11-game winning streak broken and slipped to 11-3.
Brenna Hunt added nine points in the win. Lia Keefe added eight, including two baskets in the third quarter.
Hayley Pompey scored 10 of Montrose’s 12 first-half points and finished with 12 points.

Wyoming Seminary 46, Susquehanna 28
Wyoming Seminary broke a four-game losing streak and returned to the .500 level at 7-7 with the road win.
The Blue Knights limited the Lady Sabers to two field goals in each of the first three quarters while building a 33-14 lead.
Lexi Lichtenstein then scored 9 of her game-high 13 points by going 5-for-5 from the line in the fourth quarter.
Maddie Olshemski had gone 5-for-5 in the first three quarters and finished with 11 points.
Alexandra Iveson led Susquehanna with eight points.
Athens 51, Blue Ridge 43
Blue Ridge remained within three points through three quarters before visiting Athens stretched its lead late.
Carbondale 45, Forest City 31
Visiting Carbondale won for the second time in three games following a 1-9 start.
