Finley Bittenbender hit three 3-pointers while scoring 16 points as Scranton rolled over visiting Holy Cross, 59-23, in one of Friday night’s season-opening girls basketball games.
The game matched teams that are ranked sixth – Scranton among Big Schools; Holy Cross among Small Schools – in the season-opening Riverfront Sports Super Six Basketball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
Kamryn Alers added 13 points for the Lady Knights.
Jenna Luciani led Holy Cross with 11 points.

Claire Aufiero scored 12 of her 17 points in the second half as Nanticoke broke open a one-point game on the road.
Aufiero had eight in the third quarter when the Trojanettes stretched a 20-19 halftime lead to 33-25.
Samantha Bajor led North Pocono with eight points.
Delaware Valley 28, Mid Valley 21
Delaware Valley held visiting Mid Valley to four second-half points while rallying for the victory.
Mountain View 59, MMI Prep 11
Vanessa Harvey scored 20 points and Addison Kilmer added 17 for Mountain View in the home-court win.
