GIRLS ROUNDUP:  Wyoming Sem hands Mountain View first defeat

Cassidy Skoronski’s early 3-pointers and Maddie Olshemski’s late free throw shooting led the way Saturday afternoon as Wyoming Seminary handed host Mountain View its first loss, 54-46, in a non-league girls basketball game.

Both finished with 13 points as Wyoming Seminary improved to 2-1. Mountain View dropped to 3-1.

Skoronski made two 3-pointers in the first quarter and another in the second quarter. She finished the half with 11 points to help the Blue Knights to a 30-24 lead.

Olshemski went 8-for-13 from the line in the second half, including 6-for-10 in the fourth quarter when Wyoming Seminary did not have a field goal.

Claire Griffin scored 12 points and Ellie Parra had 11.

Addison Kilmer led Mountain View with 23 points, including 11 in the first quarter.

Taylor Neri hit three 3-pointers while scoring her 11 points in the middle quarters.

Susquehanna 51, Hanover Area 21

Lexi Iveson scored 12 of her 21 points to lead the way as Susquehanna broke away from a tie game by outscoring visiting Hanover Area, 23-3, in the third quarter.

Hanover Area was led by Hannah Salwoski with 10 points.

Tunkhannock 41, Nanticoke 34

Lexi Corby scored 10 points and Sable Stephens added 9 as Tunkhannock improved to 2-0 with the road win.

Claire Aufiero led Nanticoke with 14 points.

Troy 44, Elk Lake 36

Elk Lake lost at home.
