Abington Heights and Wyoming Seminary completed unbeaten championship seasons to wrap up their respective conference girls tennis championships Oct. 6.
First singles player Bella Peters and the first doubles team of Faith Bennett-Hanna Adonizio each won, 6-0, 6-0, as Abington Heights defeated Scranton, 5-0.
The Comets lost just 3 games in 12 sets while finishing 14-0 in the Lackawanna League.
Rina Hanumali, Susan Arp and Nevaeh Vendrell-Mary Booth had the other wins.
Wyoming Seminary defeated Hazleton Area, 4-1, to finish 12-0 in the Wyoming Valley Conference.
Ilana Rosenthal and Ella Krypel, at the top two singles spots, and the second doubles team of Maria Nolte-Vicky Smulowitz all won, 6-0, 6-0.
Dominica Delayo-Samantha Casey won, 6-1, 6-1, at first doubles.
Margaret Mihalick was up, 3-0, at third singles for Wyoming Seminary when she retired, making Hazleton Area’s Nanci Major the winner.
Scranton Prep locked up second place in the Lackawanna League with a 4-1 victory over West Scranton when ranked teams squared off.
Alyssa Wigley, at first singles, and Sarah Aubrey-Grace Devine, at second doubles, each finished up straight-set victories with 6-0 second sets.
Leelah Farrell, who made it through a first-set tiebreaker at third singles, and Gisele Falzone-Ella Cohen, at first doubles, also won in straight sets for Scranton Prep.
Maddy Maloney had West Scranton’s win in second singles.
In other Lackawanna matches: Delaware Valley defeated Western Wayne, 4-1; Montrose downed Dunmore, 4-1; Wallenpaupack shut out Honesdale, 5-0; Riverside defeated Mid Valley, 4-1; and North Pocono shut out Valley View, 5-0.
The other two WVC matches ended in 5-0 shutouts with Crestwood defeating Wilkes-Barre Area and Dallas downing Wyoming Valley West.
