Western Wayne and Dunmore swept their way into the District 2 Class 2A girls volleyball semifinals with dominant, home-court victories Wednesday night.
The wins send the Lady ‘Cats and Lady Bucks into Monday night’s semifinal doubleheader at Holy Redeemer.
Maddie Stiffler served up seven aces to lead Western Wayne past Elk Lake, 25-7, 25-6, 25-14.
Raegan Palmer had 10 assists and 5 aces. Lauren Beamer added four kills and Ella Pavlovich three.
Fourth-seeded Western Wayne (11-8) will face top-seeded Holy Redeemer a half hour after the completion of the match between third-seeded Dunmore (10-6) and second-seeded Lake-Lehman (13-4) at 5 p.m.
Dunmore rolled into the semifinals, 25-2, 25-8, 25-11, over Hanover Area.
Leena Conte, Sadie Ondek, Lauren Henry and Amanda Dempsey all had four kills.
