Delaware Valley overpowered Nanticoke in three sets Thursday in a meeting between teams ranked in the Electric City Volleyball Academy Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
Emily Henn had 12 kills as the Lady Warriors won the Wyoming Valley Conference girls volleyball match, 25-17, 25-9, 25-9.
Delaware Valley, the second-ranked team, improved to 2-0 in the WVC and 3-0 overall. Fourth-ranked Nanticoke slipped to 1-1.
Henn also had eight service points, five digs and three blocks.
Jazmyne Bates had 8 kills, 15 service points, 9 aces and 8 digs in the win.
Olivia Conza had 25 assists.
In other WVC matches: Hazleton Area swept Wilkes-Barre Area in three sets and Crestwood defeated Pittston Area, 3-2.
Hazleton Area won by scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-9.
Crestwood had to rally to hand Pittston Area its first loss in three matches, 26-24, 21-25, 19-25, 25-19, 15-8.
Kara Collins had 20 kills and Jadyn Hooper added 18 for Crestwood.
Melanie Golden had 45 assists, 15 points and 9 aces. Ceanna Belisle had 20 points, 8 aces and 5 digs.
Pittston Area was led by Tyra Winters with 30 digs, 6 blocks and 5 kills.
Mountain View handed Susquehanna its first loss, 3-2, in a Lackawanna League Division 2 match.
Susquehanna still leads Division 2 with a 2-1 record, a one half-match in front of Mountain View and Blue Ridge, both at 1-1.
