GOLF ROUNDUP: Trail wins title; Lake-Lehman, Prep finish perfect

Lackawanna Trail, Lake-Lehman and Scranton Prep finished off special regular seasons Monday and they made it look easy.

Lackawanna Trail clinched a Lackawanna League Division 3 title repeat and completed an unbeaten season in the division by shutting out host Western Wayne, 9-0, at Red Maples.

Lake-Lehman completed the first unbeaten regular season in school history with a 157-210 rout of Wyoming Seminary to wrap up its Wyoming Valley Conference Division 3 championship season.

Scranton Prep also finished unbeaten, beating Wallenpaupack, 9-0, in its final Lackawanna Division 1 match while prepping for the postseason by collectively shooting 6-under for its 6-player lineup while competing in the match play format.

Lackawanna Trail wrapped up two points, by Adam Jones and Brayden Jones, in singles in the minimum five holes, and three more in six holes.

The Lions finished 9-0-1 in the division and 11-2-1 overall. They needed the victory to finish a match ahead of Mid Valley, the team that tied Lackawanna Trail in one of their two meetings.

George Duffy, Gavin June, Michael Bluhm and Sabrina Rogalla were the other Lackawanna Trail players, all of which joined Adam and Brayden Jones in winning in both singles and better-ball.

Cael Ropietski shot 1-under-par 35 at Huntsville Golf Club to lead Lake-Lehman to its victory.

Michael Lugiano shot 38. Eli Ropietski and Joe Maseychik added 42s.

Scranton Prep’s Michael Sewack, Thomas Lynch and Brett Strong all shot 2-under-par, 33s at Glenmaura National while Michael Lynch was 1-under, Ben Galko shot par and Gavin Walsh was 1-over.

In other Lackawanna matches: North Pocono defeated Honesdale, 7-2, in Division 1; Riverside defeated Delaware Valley, 6-3, and Scranton downed West Scranton, 5½-3½, in Division 2; Carbondale defeated Old Forge, 5 ½-3 ½, in Division 3; and Montrose shut out Mountain View, 9-0, and Forest City edged Blue Ridge, 5-4, in Division 4.

Montrose finished a perfect season within Division 4.

Wyoming Valley West defeated Tunkhannock, 184-190, in a WVC Division 1-2 crossovers.

Wyoming Seminary defeated Nanticoke, 186-210, in a second match at Huntsville and Hanover Area defeated Wyoming Area, 160-183, in other WVC Division 3 matches.

Nick Schiel shot 37 to lead Hanover Area.

Valley View defeated Lakeland, 7-2, in a non-league match.

GIRLS

Hallie Brown and Kylie Zaleski each shot 40 as Tunkhannock defeated Elk Lake, 128-145.

Adriana Gentile added a 48.

Reese Warriner led Elk Lake with a 41. Chloe Sipe shot 45.
