Holy Redeemer boys reach 4-0

District 2 has its first 4-0 boys basketball team of the season.

The Holy Redeemer boys used a Sunday trip to New York City to reach that status.

Zach Perta scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack as the Royals rolled over Hunter College Prep, 62-34.

Holy Redeemer players took turns leading the offense.

Lou Lussi scored all nine of his points in the first quarter when Holy Redeemer took a 20-12 lead.

Darryl Wright had all 11 of his points in the first half, hitting two 3-pointers in the first quarter and another in the second.

Perta took over with eight points in the second quarter as the Royals increased their lead to 35-20.

Jacob Hunter, who finished with 10 points, had 7 in the third quarter, which ended with Holy Redeemer in front, 50-32.

With reserves handling the bulk of the playing time, Holy Redeemer limited Hunter to two points in the fourth quarter.

Merlin Goglin scored 21 points, including 11 in the first quarter, to lead Hunter.

Holy Redeemer limited the rest of the host team to just five field goals.
