Zach Perta and Darryl Wright got the Holy Redeemer offense started, then Jacob Hunter finished off Wyoming Seminary.
Hunter scored 15 of his game-high 20 points in the second half Tuesday night as Holy Redeemer posted its 18th straight boys basketball victory, defeating visiting Wyoming Seminary, 62-47, in a District 2 Class 3A quarterfinal.
Perta added 15 points and Wright had 14.
Top-seed and defending champion Holy Redeemer (23-2) advanced to host Riverside (14-9) in Friday night’s semifinals.
Wyoming Seminary’s season ended at 5-18.
Perta had five points to help Holy Redeemer take a 12-9 lead after one quarter.
Wright had eight points in the second quarter as the Royals opened a 31-19 halftime lead.
After being held scoreless in the first quarter, Hunter had five points each in the second and third. He then scored half of the team’s 20 fourth-quarter points.
Jack Leahy scored 12 points and Isaiah Stull had 11 for Wyoming Seminary.
Holy Redeemer is the top-ranked Small School boys team in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Basketball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
