Honesdale moved up in and Wyoming Valley West moved into the latest Riverfront Sports Elite Eight Wrestling Power Rankings of District 2 teams, which were released Thursday afternoon.
Lackawanna Trail remains in the top spot after posting its fourth tournament title in five tries this season and easily taking over first place in Lackawanna League Division 2 with a 46-17 victory at Honesdale.
Abington Heights, Delaware Valley, Wyoming Area and Hazleton Area continued to hold down the second through fifth positions during a week in which the top five teams went a combined 9-0.
No. Wyoming Area clinched at least a tie for first place in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 with a 51-22 victory over defending champion Lake-Lehman.
The next three teams in last week’s rankings went a combined 3-7, leading to the two changes.
Honesdale gained one spot to sixth after splitting its matches with what had been the other two unbeatens in the division. The Hornets temporarily took first place with a 47-15 victory over Western Wayne, but gave it up in the loss to Lackawanna Trail.
Wyoming Valley West moved into the rankings in seventh after a busy week in which it went 3-3, including pushing WVC Division 1 leader Hazleton Area in a 34-29 loss.
Western Wayne remained eighth after a split, including the loss to Honesdale.
