Addison Kilmer’s triple-double led the way Saturday when Mountain View posted just the second state girls basketball victory in program history with a 49-33 win over visiting Harrisburg Christian in a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class A first-round game.
Kilmer finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.
The Lady Eagles, who won their first district and subregional titles this season, improved to 19-6. They advanced into Wednesday’s 6 p.m. game against the Christian School of York, third-place team from District 3 with a 22-4 record.
Claire Getz hit three 3-pointers while helping Mountain View take leads of 12-4 after one quarter and 27-13 at halftime.
Getz connected on two of her 3-pointers in the first quarter. She also finished with five assists and four rebounds.
Kilmer scored eight of her points in the second quarter.
Ryleigh Kilmer hit two 3-pointers and her sister added five points as Mountain View extended the lead to 40-23 going into the fourth quarter.
Vanessa Harvey also had five assists as the Lady Eagles moved the ball effectively to register assists on 18 of 19 baskets.
The Lady Eagles improved to 2-4 all-time in state play. Their only previous win came in their last appearance when Nicole Zapolski scored 24 points and Julie Lasher added 22 in a 75-52 victory over Line Mountain at Valley View March 9, 2001 after they finished second in District 2 in Class 2A for the second straight year.
Hannah Costa scored 12 points Saturday to lead Harrisburg Christian, the fifth-place team from District 3 which finished 12-14.
Christian School of York defeated Harrisburg Christian, 37-31, in the District 3 quarterfinals.
