Abington Heights gets its boys soccer postseason started Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. after a successful regular season, including an uncommon perfect record in Division 1 of the Lackawanna League.

The Comets received a bye in Monday’s quarterfinals as the top seed in the District 2-4 Class 4A Subregional playoffs.

Abington Heights (16-1) opens the playoffs with a semifinal against fourth-seeded Delaware Valley (12-6).

When the Comets went 14-0 in Lackawanna Division 1 this season, they became the first team to have a perfect record in the division in 15 years. It was another Abington Heights team, in 2007 that last accomplished that feat.

Perfection for the 2007 team was followed by six more championship seasons in succession for Abington Heights.

Only 2 of the previous 14 seasons produced unbeaten teams.

Scranton Prep went 12-0-1 in 2105 and Abington Heights was 12-0-2 the following year.
