Scranton Prep and Abington Heights used their division championships to earn top seeds in the Lackawanna League playoff brackets that will determine the league’s representatives in the District 2 boys team golf championship matches.
After going 14-0 in the Class 2A Division, Scranton Prep is the top seed for an eight-team Class 2A tournament that begins with quarterfinals Wednesday.
Abington Heights is the top seed in the four-team Class 3A tournament that starts with Thursday’s semifinals.
The Class 2A semifinals are scheduled for Friday and/or Saturday.
The two league finals are scheduled for Oct. 5.
The Wyoming Valley Conference will determine its representatives in Oct. 6 matches at Fox Hill Country Club when Crestwood faces Hazleton Area in Class 3A and Lake-Lehman meets either Holy Redeemer or Wyoming Seminary in Class 2A.
The District 2 team championships will be Oct. 11 at Fox Hill Country Club.
The bottom three seeds in Lackawanna League Class 2A were determined in a three-way playoff Monday when Mid Valley took the sixth seed by shooting a four-player team score of 193 at Stone Hedge. Dunmore is the seventh seed after shooting 203 and Western Wayne wound up with the eighth spot with a 209.
