LACROSSE ROUNDUP: Herron, Swartz reach milestones in opener

Two Wyoming Seminary boys lacrosse players set career milestones when the season opened March 18.

Jack Herron and Matt Swartz combined for nine goals and six assists in a 16-3 rout of visiting Bellefonte.

Herron had five goals and four assists, including the 100th assist of his career.

Swartz reached 100 points for his career with four goals and three assists.

Xavier Beaulac added three goals and an assist while Jack Leahy had two goals and three assists.

In other boys openers, Scranton Prep downed Selinsgrove, 11-7, and Lewisburg defeated Scranton Prep, 10-4.

Brady Holmes had 4 goals and Aiden Jordan made 13 saves to lead Scranton Prep.

Will McPartland, who had two assists, and Finn Kane added two goals each.

Lewisburg’s Matt Reish had four goals and three assists.

GIRLS OPENERS

Halle Kranson and Sofia Sabatini scored four goals each as Wyoming Area won at Lewisburg, 11-6.

Lewisburg led, 5-4, before the Lady Warriors twice scored three goals in less than a minute twice in the last 14 minutes.

Kranson had three of those goals, including the one that put Wyoming Area ahead and the eventual game-winner.

Sabatini started and ended those outbursts.

Julianna Gonzales also scored in that stretch and had three total.

In other games: Scranton Prep defeated Selinsgrove, 9-3, and Pleasant Valley outscored Crestwood, 15-12.

Rylee Rath scored nine goals to lead Pleasant Valley.

Isabella Caporuscio led Crestwood with eight goals and three assists. Julia Glowacki added three goals and an assist.
