Emma Suhoski’s overtime goal Thursday night allowed Crestwood to stop Wyoming Valley West’s seven-game winning streak and lock down the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 girls soccer title with a 5-4, home-field victory.
Crestwood (13-5 overall) lost its division opener to Dallas, which had won the last three titles. The Lady Comets, however, recovered to win their remaining 11 games and will win the division by at least two games.
Wyoming Valley West and Dallas are tied for second at 8-3 with one game left.
Crestwood came from behind and overcame a three-goal effort by Lola Wojciechowski.
Ella Brady, Keira Dougherty, Kennedie Huber and Emma Sheloski scored the other Crestwood goals.
Veronica Warunek also scored for the Lady Spartans.
Wyoming Valley West is 10-7 after losing its first three games and later falling to 1-4, then 3-6.
