Lake-Lehman, N. Pocono move up

The remaining five conference unbeatens now occupy the top five spots in the Electric City Volleyball Academy Elite Eight Power Rankings of District 2 girls teams.

Lake-Lehman, which had an early-season, non-league loss to unranked Western Wayne, remained unbeaten in the Wyoming Valley Conference and continued its climb this week, going from sixth to fifth when the rankings were revealed early Friday afternoon. Two weeks ago, the Lady Knights were ranked eighth.

North Pocono also moved up this week while Dallas rejoined the rankings.

Delaware Valley, Berwick, Holy Redeemer and Blue Ridge continue to hold down the top four positions in that order.

Holy Redeemer suffered two non-league losses to teams outside District 2, but leads the WVC at 6-0.

Delaware Valley, Berwick and Lake-Lehman are tied for second at 5-0.

Blue Ridge leads Lackawanna League Division 1 and has the district’s best overall record at 9-0.

Delaware Valley and Berwick join Blue Ridge with unbeaten overall marks.

Going into today’s WVC battle at Delaware Valley, the host Lady Warriors and Berwick have beaten every opponent in a three-set sweep.

Holy Redeemer has won 21 of 22 sets within District 2.

Blue Ridge has swept its last five opponents.

North Pocono has also swept five straight teams. With their latest two victories, the Lady Trojans have climbed one spot into sixth.

Dallas won twice, including five-set match with Pittston Area, to move into seventh.

Pittston Area lost twice and fell from fifth to eighth.

Dunmore dropped out of the rankings.
