More matchups of ranked teams

The teams in the Gaughan Auto Store Super Six Football Power Rankings were 10-0 in the first week of the playoffs. The only time any of them lost in the second week was in the five games where two ranked teams went head-to-head, all of which were won by the team that was listed higher in the weekly rankings of Lackawanna Football Conference and Wyoming Valley Conference teams on our partner website, NEPAFootball.com.

Those results leave 7 of the 12 ranked teams standing and create two more head-to-head matchups.

No. 1 Scranton Prep hosts No. 2 Wyoming Area in a Small School battle for the District 2 Class 3A title.

On the Big School side, No. 1 Valley View hosts No. 3 North Pocono in the District 2 Class 4A championship game.

All of the upcoming playoff games are scheduled for Friday at 7.

The other three ranked teams that are still active have games in the state playoffs.

Big School No. 2 Delaware Valley faces State College in a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 6A game at Hazleton Area.

Small School No. 3 Old Forge hosts Williams Valley in Class A while Small School No. 6 Lackawanna Trail goes to Northern Lehigh in Class 2A.

The rankings, with records and last week’s rank.
