Dallas preserves perfect record

Parker Bolesta ran for two early touchdowns, Dylan Geskey scored twice and Brady Zapoticky threw for two touchdowns as unbeaten Dallas kept rolling with a 45-14 rout of visiting Wyoming Valley West Sept. 23 in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 football game.

Dallas improved to 3-0 in the division and 5-0 overall. Wyoming Valley West remained winless through the midway point in the season.

Bolesta carried 15 times for 152 yards. He got a fast start toward those totals and passing the 1,000-yard mark for the season by scoring on 45- and 32-yard runs in the first 6:12.

Wyoming Valley West cut the deficit to 14-7 after one quarter when Isaiah Cobb took a fourth-down pass from Paul Riggs in the right flat, off a trick play, 47 yards for a touchdown.

The Mountaineers added to the lead in the first minute of the second quarter and on the last play of the half.

Zapoticky, who was 8-for-15 for 134 yards, found Nick Farrell in the end zone for a 16-yard touchdown.

Jace Chopyak mae it 24-7 at halftime on a 35-yard field goal.

Geskey scored touchdowns 2:28 apart in the third quarter to build the lead to 38-7 with the help of the fourth and fifth of Chopyak’s six extra points. He scored by taking a Zapoticky shovel pass 57 yards for one touchdown, then running 20 yards for the next score.

Mike Lewis broke a 56-yard touchdown run for Dallas seconds into the fourth quarter to send the game into the Mercy Rule.

Riggs scored the last touchdown for the Spartans on a 1-yard run.
