North Pocono, Dallas and Lake-Lehman moved up this week while Elk Lake clilmbed into the Riverfront Sports Super Six Baseball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
Hazleton Area and Holy Redeemer remained in the No. 1 spots when the new rankings were released Tuesday afternoon.
The six ranked Big School teams combined to go 11-1 when not playing against each other. The Small School teams struggled with last week’s six ranked teams losing a total of seven times.
Hazleton Area remains No. 1 among Big Schools after winning four times, adding to its Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 lead by beating Dallas and avenging a loss to Bethlehem Liberty in last year’s Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 6A state semifinals.
North Pocono, which expanded its lead in Lackawanna League Division 1 by beating Abington Heights, and Dallas moved up one spot each into second and third.
Dallas defeated Pittston Area, dropping the Patriots from second to fourth.
Abington Heights and Lackawanna Division 2 leader Honesdale are still the fifth and sixth teams.
The top two Small School teams, Holy Redeemer and Mid Valley, each lost twice, but remained 1-2. The losses were the first of the season for the top-ranked Royals, who are still unbeaten and in the lead of WVC Division 2.
Old Forge went 3-0 in the week to hold third.
Lake-Lehman moved from sixth to fourth, winning two WVC Division 2 games and losing one game outside the district.
Dunmore dropped from fourth to fifth.
Elk Lake won three games, including a first-place battle with Carbondale in Lackawanna Division 3, to move into sixth place.
Riverside fell from the rankings.
