North Pocono held Honesdale to five field goals for the first three quarters Friday night as the host Lady Trojans clinched no worse than a tie for the Lackawanna League Division 2 girls basketball title with a 43-27 victory.
Abby Lenchitsky led the way for the Lady Trojans with 12 points. She was 6-for-7 from the line.
North Pocono led 11-2 after one quarter, 24-8 at halftime and 33-13 through three quarters.
Honesdale cut into the final margin with four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Trojans improved to 10-2 in the league and 12-9 overall by winning their fourth straight and eighth in their last nine games.
North Pocono has a one-game lead over Wallenpaupack, which it hosts Monday night at 6:45 in the regular-season finale.
A North Pocono win would give the Lady Trojans the division title. If Wallenpaupack (9-3, 15-6) wins, the teams finish tied and will need a playoff to championship.
