Perfect week for ranked teams

The teams that make up the Riverfront Sports Super Six Boys Volleyball Power Rankings of District 2 teams limited the opportunities for newcomers to break into their group.

The six ranked teams combined to win all 12 of their matches during the past week, including three-set sweeps in all 10 matches against other District 2 teams.

As a result, the rankings are unchanged this week.

Holy Redeemer, which completed an unbeaten Wyoming Valley Conference season, remained No. 1. The Royals won all nine of their conference matches in three-set sweeps.

Delaware Valley, Abington Heights, Tunkhannock, Berwick and Blue Ridge fill out the rest of the rankings.

Delaware Valley has lost only to Holy Redeemer.

Abington Heights is the Lackawanna League leader.

Tunkhannock has posted nine straight three-set sweeps since losing its opener to Delaware Valley.

Berwick sat out the week.

Blue Ridge won its only match to remain in second place.
