The Abington Heights girls posted the highest team score of the day, winning the Class 3A title with 102 points Friday when the Phil Tochelli Lackawanna Track Conference Junior High Championships were held at Western Wayne High School.
The other team titles were won by the Wallenpaupack (3A) and Mid Valley (2A) boys as well as the Lakeland girls.
Kate Korty from Carbondale won three Class 2A girls events and set two records in the process. She set the records in the 800-meter run (2:29.43) and 1600 run (5:28.13) and also won the 400 dash.
Korty broke the five-year-old 1600 record held by Hannah Perkins from Montrose and the three-year-old record held by her older sister, Rachel Korty, from Carbondale.
Michael Passenti from Wallenpaupack won three individual events while helping the Buckhorns to the title in Class 3A boys.
