Unbeaten District 2 champions Dallas and Abington Heights will open the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Tennis Team Tournament close to home in a first-round state doubleheader at the TK Tennis Academy in Kingston Tuesday.
Dallas, also the Wyoming Valley Conference champion, plays District 11 champion Moravian Academy in the 11 a.m. opener. The Mountaineers are 14-0. Moravian Academy is 14-1.
Lackawanna League champion Abington Heights faces District 1 third-place finisher Unionville in Class 3A after the Dallas-Moravian Academy match. The Comets are 16-0. Unionville is 15-2.
The Abington Heights-Unionville pairing is a rematch. Unionville ended Abington Heights’ unbeaten season with a 3-0 victory last year at the Birchwood Tennis Center.
Dallas made the state quarterfinals last season before suffering its first loss.
