Changes were minimal but significant in the latest Riverfront Sports Super Six Softball Power Rankings of District 2 teams.
Pittston Area took over the top spot among Big Schools and Lake-Lehman joined the Small Schools for the latest rankings, which were released Sunday morning.
The Lady Patriots took over No. 1 from Abington Heights by being the more dominant of the two Big School unbeatens.
Pittston Area won its two games by a total of 24-2 and has outscored 12 opponents 138-15.
Lake-Lehman had a 3-0 week, running its winning streak to four and improving to 8-4 overall to claim the sixth spot among Small Schools.
The other positions remained the same as top teams kept rolling with the regular season proceeding toward the stretch run.
Pittston Area’s top ranking will be tested immediately with the Lady Patriots scheduled to go to No. 4 Tunkhannock, last year’s final No. 1 team, Monday for first place in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1.
West Scranton remained third in Big Schools, followed by Tunkhannock, North Pocono and Valley View.
The ranked Big School teams were a combined 18-2 on the week. Tunkhannock was 5-1 with the loss coming, 5-4, to Williamsport. North Pocono suffered its first loss, 15-12, to higher-ranked Abington Heights.
Mid Valley remained unbeaten to hold first among Small Schools.
