The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association made one last set of changes a little before 4 p.m. Tuesday to accommodate a member school that had travel issues making Wednesday’s revised schedule.
As a result, the Mid Valley-Devon Prep Class 3A boys game has been moved to a single contest at 7 p.m. at Whitehall.
That change makes the games at Easton Middle School a doubleheader, instead of tripleheader, involving both Scranton Prep teams with a new order.
The Classics will play Nazareth Academy in Class 4A girls at 6 p.m. The Cavaliers will meet Bishop Shanahan at 7:30 in Class 4A boys.
Just as was the case in the first round when 21 teams played Saturday, every District 2 team will play on the same day because of weather-related postponements Tuesday. All 13 remaining District 2 teams will play Wednesday.
To fit everything into the schedule, the PIAA had already made other moves earlier in the day.
Two games remain at the same site and time, just 24 hours later.
The Scranton Prep boys and Dunmore girls are still headed to the Lehigh Valley, but are at different sites than originally planned.
The Abington Heights boys will still play at Hazleton Area, but starting an hour earlier as the opener of a doubleheader instead of as a single game.
Lake-Lehman will still go to Martz Hall in Pottsville, but as the opener to a tripleheader.
The Abington Heights and Pittston Area girls games, already scheduled for Wednesday at Martz Hall will have new starting times as will the Holy Cross boys who play after Abington Heights.
The Holy Redeemer boys are one of the teams that have an adjusted starting time at Bethlehem Liberty to fit the Dunmore girls into that tripleheader.
Here is the Wednesday schedule, as of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, at which point no further changes are anticipated, for District 2 teams with opponents, sites and times:
