ROUNDUP: DV out of 3A; higher seeds advance in 2A boys lacrosse

Nazareth knocked Delaware Valley out of the District 2-11 Class 3A Subregional quarterfinals, but the Warriors are still being acknowledged as District 2 champions in Class 3A boys lacrosse after their 9-3 season.

The game was tied 2-2 after one quarter and 5-5 at halftime before Nazareth began to take control.

Quinn Antansio scored four goals to lead Nazareth.

Nate Melnick led Delaware Valley with two goals and an assist while Xander Kelly had a goal and two assists.

The top four seeds all advanced to the semifinals in District 2 Class 2A.

Dallas avenged a regular-season loss to rival Lake-Lehman with a 19-13 victory.

Wyoming Valley Conference champion Crestwood handled Holy Redeemer, 18-8.

Wyoming Seminary defeated Tunkhannock, 17-4, and Scranton Prep downed North Pocono, 19-5.

Both District 2 entries in the District 2-11 Class 3A Subregional quarterfinals were knocked out in blowout losses.

Bethlehem Freedom defeated Delaware Valley, 27-1, and Emmaus beat Hazleton Area, 19-1.

Delaware Valley is also the District 2 Class 3A champions in girls based on a higher playoff seeding rating from the regular season.
