GREENFIELD TWP. – Ben Walsh and Dan Flynn swept the three points in the middle foursome Thursday at Elkview Country Club, allowing Scranton Prep to add the playoff title to its regular-season championship in Lackawanna League Class 2A Division boys golf.
This is the seventh straight season that Scranton Prep has won both a division title and a playoff championship in Lackawanna League golf. The Cavaliers are unbeaten in 118 league matches, regular season and playoff, during that time.
Scranton Prep earned a shot at also adding a seventh straight District 2 title Tuesday when it plays unbeaten Wyoming Valley Conference champion Lake-Lehman.
The Cavaliers also earned two points in the first foursome and one in the third.
Two of the points were decided at the 12th green, two more at 13, one at 14, two at 15 and two at 17. None of the matches reached the final hole.
T.J. Stott won in 12 holes for Prep in the first foursome and teamed with Guy Rothery for that better-ball point.
Ben Boyanoski added the team’s other singles point.
Gavin June won in singles and joined Cole Schirg for a better-ball point to lead Lackawanna Trail.
Lorenzo Domiano had the other singles point for the Lions.
