Scranton Prep climbs into third

Crestwood, as the No. 1 team throughout the season, was able to handle a challenge by the unbeaten No. 2 team.

Dallas, sitting at No. 3 going into Thursday, was not as successful.

Scranton Prep used Thursday’s 12-11 victory in a head-to-head meeting to swap places with Dallas, moving from fourth to third when the new Riverfront Sports Girls Lacrosse Power Rankings of District 2 teams were posted early Friday morning.

The rest of the rankings remained the same.

Wyoming Valley Conference leader Crestwood held No. 1 with its 17-5 romp Saturday over Abington Heights, which held on to second with the district’s best record.

Wyoming Area maintained the last spot in the five-deep rankings. The Lady Warriors won twice before falling to top-ranked Crestwood, 18-9, in the closest game to date for the Lady Comets within District 2.
