Three division wrestling leads will be on the line Wednesday.

The sports schedule around District 2 is heavy on wrestling and girls basketball on a day off for boys basketball and a day in which there is just one boys and girls swimming meet.

Nanticoke (1-0 in the division, 4-2 overall) is at Wyoming Area (2-0, 9-4) for the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 wrestling lead.

Wyoming Area is coming off the team title in Saturday’s WVC Tournament.

Delaware Valley (2-0, 3-2) is at West Scranton (2-0, 5-3) for sole possession of the Lackawanna League Division 1 wrestling lead. They begin the day tied for first place with Abington Heights, which has the night off.

Two of the three leaders meet in Lackawanna League Division 2.

Western Wayne (3-0, 8-3) is at defending champion Lackawanna Trail (2-0, 2-0) while Honesdale is likely to reach 4-0 in a match at Blue Ridge.

Hazleton Area (2-0, 6-3) is at Dallas (0-1, 5-1) in a WVC Division 1 game to highlight the girls basketball schedule.

The rest of the wrestling schedule is: Elk Lake at Mountain View in Lackawanna Division 2; Tunkhannock at Pittston Area, Hazleton Area at Wilkes-Barre Area and Crestwood at Wyoming Valley West in WVC Division 1; and Berwick at Lake-Lehman in WVC Division 2.

The only swimming action has Nanticoke at Wilkes-Barre Area in a WVC boys and girls meet.
