The Holy Cross and Riverside boys and girls basketball teams will travel to each other’s gyms Tuesday night for Lackawanna League Division 3 games that match Small School teams in the My City Mortgage Super Six Basketball Power Rankings of District 2 teams against each other.

No. 2 Riverside (3-1 in the division, 9-2 overall) is at No. 3 Holy Cross (2-1, 5-5) in a girls game matching returning first-team, all-state players.

Kaci Kranson from Holy Cross, who is coming off a 44-point game Friday night at Lackawanna Trail, and Kylie Lavelle from Riverside are District 2’s top two scorers and gaining on career milestones.

Kranson is closing in on the Holy Cross career scoring record while Lavelle is approaching 1,500 career points. They combine for nearly 52 points per game.

Fourth-ranked Holy Cross (1-2, 6-5) is at third-ranked Riverside (2-2, 8-3) in a boys game.

Riverside and Holy Cross will fight for second place in Lackawanna Division 3 girls while Lackawanna Trail (1-0, 4-5) is at Elk Lake (3-1, 7-3) to do the same in Lackawanna Division 4 girls.

The girls basketball schedule also includes Berwick (2-2, 5-6) at Hazleton Area (4-0, 8-3) in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 and Dunmore (2-0, 7-1) at Mid Valley (1-2, 7-4) in Lackawanna Division 3.

The boys basketball schedule also includes Wilkes-Barre Area (4-1, 7-5) at Crestwood (2-2, 6-4) in WVC Division 1 and Nanticoke (1-0, 2-7) at Lake-Lehman (2-2, 3-5) in WVC Division 2.

The only wrestling match on the schedule has Scranton Prep (2-2, 3-5) at Lackawanna Trail (3-0, 3-0) in Lackawanna League Division 2.

There are three boys and girls swimming meets scheduled: Lake-Lehman at Nanticoke and Wyoming Valley West at Wyoming Area in the WVC along with Valley View at Elk Lake in the Lackawanna League.

The best meet shapes up as the girls meet between Valley View (2-1) and Elk Lake (4-0).
