The two matches that decided the Lackawanna League division titles will be repeated Saturday to decide the District 2 Dual Meet Wrestling Championships.

If the league meetings are any indication, the Class 3A final will be the closer one.

Delaware Valley is at Abington Heights in Class 3A at 5 p.m. and Honesdale is at Lackawanna Trail in Class 2A at 6 p.m.

Top-seed Abington Heights (12-1) and defending champion and third-seed Delaware Valley (12-4) met Jan. 26 at Delaware Valley.

The Comets won the Lackawanna Division 1 title by taking the last three bouts for a 30-25 victory. They did not go ahead until the next-to-last bout and did not clinch until Hutch Lynott pulled out a one-point decision in the final.

Second-seeded Honesdale (19-4) hosted the first meeting with defending champion and top-seed Lackawanna Trail (9-0).

Honesdale was handed 18 points on three forfeits but wound up with 17, losing 46-17 when they gave up one point to an unsportmanlike conduct penalty and Lackawanna Trail won 10 bouts.

The Lions opened a 25-0 lead in the first five bouts and were never challenged.

Division leaders meet when District 3 Class 6A contender Cumberland Valley (16-3) comes to Scranton Prep (13-2) for an afternoon non-league girls basketball game. Cumberland Valley handed Scranton Prep its only regular-season loss last season.

The first division clinching could take place at night when Western Wayne (8-1) hosts Honesdale (4-4) in Lackawanna League Division 2 girls.

The boys basketball is highlighted by a night meeting of Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 contenders when Hazleton Area (9-1) plays at Pittston Area (8-3).
